Challenge

After pausing its marketing efforts, Boatsetter needed to reintroduce itself to consumers and reclaim momentum in the market. The brand was primarily understood as a functional boat-rental or boat-sharing service—something people might use only once or twice a year.
The opportunity was to create a much bigger category story: position Boatsetter as the leading marketplace for memorable on-the-water experiences, relevant year-round for everything from everyday escapes to milestone celebrations, while also highlighting the platform as an attractive business opportunity for boat owners.
Approach
REINTRODUCED BOATSETTER AT SCALE through an aggressive earned and paid media strategy spanning local and national markets. The campaign rebuilt awareness while establishing Boatsetter as the accessible, authoritative destination for getting on the water.
EXPANDED THE CATEGORY NARRATIVE beyond boat rentals. Highly personalized outreach to consumer, lifestyle and travel media showcased the variety of experiences available through Boatsetter and demonstrated how the platform could make boating relevant to more people, more often and for more occasions.
PUT CREDIBLE VOICES AT THE CENTER OF THE STORY. Double Forte elevated Boatsetter co-founder and CEO Jackie Baumgarten alongside Captain Mylene Garot, a local boat owner, as key spokespeople. Satellite media tours in 2022 and 2023 brought the brand’s ease of use, year-round relevance and benefits for boat owners to audiences nationwide.
TURNED MARKET MOMENTUM INTO CATEGORY LEADERSHIP. By connecting Boatsetter to the growing interest in boating while consistently communicating a broader experiential story, the campaign moved the brand beyond a transactional rental service and established it as the go-to marketplace for life on the water.
